5 Immunity-Enhancing Teas for Winter

Winter is cold and flu season when an overwhelming number of people become subject to cold like symptoms. There is a simple way to prevent that from happening. Here is a simple 5-minute tea recipe that will give your immunity the added enhancement it needs to fight disease causing pathogens.

Recipe 1: Ashwagandha Tea

Ingredients: Ashwagandha powder – 1/4th spoon, Honey

Method: Steep the Ashwagandha powder in hot water for about 3-5 minutes. You can use a tea-ball or infuser to dissolve the powder in water. In case you don’t have an infuser, you can stir it with a spoon in a pot of hot water and let the solution become consistent.

How to Consume: Add a teaspoon of honey or natural molasses and drink hot.

Recipe 2: Mint-Lemon Tea

Ingredients: Fresh mint leaves, lemon slice, honey, slice of ginger

Method: Heat water in a pan and when the water simmers, add 4-5 mint leaves and let the water come to a boil. Put the solution away from fire and strain. For best effect you can crush the leaves before dropping it in water. A tiny piece of fresh ginger can make the tea even more publicly

Recipe 3: Turmeric Tea

Ingredients: ½ teaspoon turmeric powder, lemon and honey to taste, a pinch of black pepper.

Method: Heat a cup of water till it simmers, add half teaspoon turmeric powder and a pinch of black pepper. Let the tea simmer for 5 minutes and strain through a fine sieve. Squeeze a few squirts of fresh lemon and add honey to taste. Turmeric contains curcumin which is an anti-oxidant and strengthens the immune system
